In Turkey, specialized technical divers who have the skills and equipment to work in the ship and yacht manufacturing industry, maritime search and rescue studies, diving tourism and scientific research are important for the relevant sectors. The number of shipyards where ships are built in our country has doubled in the last 14 years. A total of approximately 250 new ships are launched every year in the Yalova Altınova and Istanbul Tuzla shipyards region. Approximately 15,000 people are employed in the ship and yacht production sector in Yalova, Altınova district. Yalova's share in our country's total ship and yacht exports was 25.6% in 2017. Ship construction and maintenance, especially on land and under water, requires special expertise in welding and cutting works, and our most important goals are to meet the sector's need for qualified personnel in this field, to carry out national and international scientific research and to contribute to the higher education science of our country.
Altınova Vocational School is waiting to educate you, our valued students, who will contribute to the maritime industry of our country with its strong academic staff and application opportunities.
We would be honored and happy to see you under the roof of Altınova Vocational School.
