As part of Yalova University's collaboration with industry, Altınova Vocational School, offering secure employment, was established on November 7, 2018, through a protocol signed between the Yalova University Rectorate, Altınova Municipality, and TERSAN Tershanecilik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. to train the qualified workforce needed by the sector.
Specialized technical divers with the skills and equipment to work in Turkey's ship and yacht manufacturing industry, marine search and rescue operations, diving tourism, and scientific research are crucial for these sectors. The number of shipyards in Turkey that build ships has doubled in the last 14 years. Approximately 250 new ships are launched each year in the Yalova Altınova and Istanbul Tuzla shipyard regions. Approximately 15,000 people are employed in the ship and yacht manufacturing sector in the Altınova district of Yalova. Yalova's share of Turkey's total ship and yacht exports was 25.6% in 2017. Shipbuilding and maintenance, particularly on land and underwater, require specialized expertise in welding and cutting. Our primary goals are to meet the sector's need for qualified personnel in this field, conduct national and international scientific research, and contribute to our country's higher education system.
With its strong academic staff and practical experience, Altınova Vocational School awaits you, our valued students, who will contribute to our country's maritime sector.
We are honored and delighted to welcome you to Altınova Vocational School.
