In line with the vision, mission and policies of our Yalova University, the "Sector Talks" event was held within the scope of YALOVA UNIVERSITY ALTINOVA VOCATIONAL EDUCATION ACADEMY (Y.A.M.A.) Sector Days, which was established at Altınova Vocational School to support higher education, contribute to education and training and increase University & Industry cooperation. The event was led by our esteemed instructor Dr. Gökhan TIMAÇ, with the participation of Mr. Dr. Abdurrahman HARMAN, Occupational Safety Specialist and H.S.E. Coordinator from TERSAN Shipyard.
During the event, which was held within the scope of the OHS 101 Occupational Health and Safety course, Mr. Abdurrahman shared his experiences with the participating students, conducting an enjoyable sector day with real field examples on the importance of occupational safety in the sector, its role in preventing occupational accidents, risk analyses, laws and regulations. Mr. Abdurrahman stated that our students at Yalova University Altınova Vocational School are very lucky in terms of finding employment due to their close involvement with the sector and that it is one of the few schools in Turkey.
An enjoyable sector days event was held with the questions of the students from Altınova Vocational School, Motor Vehicles and Transportation Technologies Department/Shipbuilding Program and Machine and Metal Technologies Department/Welding Technology Program, about the operation and job opportunities in the sector, especially in the production, quality and R&D departments at TERSAN Shipyard.
